Finding Research Opportunity from Zero Correlations: An Investigation on the Source Attribution Mechanism in Work-Family Conflict

摘要:

本文介绍了“为了家庭的工作优先行为”这一本土化的视角是如何产生并在实证研究中得以应用的。零相关的结果激发了笔者对工作—家庭冲突来源归因机制的深入思考,并在“为了家庭的工作优先行为”视角的指导下,探索了来源归因机制的中介和调节过程。本文重点描述了研究想法从产生到付诸实施,以及得到期刊同行认可的过程,以期对研究同行有所启发。本文强调对某种现象的洞见是学术文章的灵魂,同时也强调了教学对于研究的重要性。

Abstract:

In this essay, the author shares his experiences on developing the perspective of “prioritizing work for family benefits” and using this perspective to study work-family conflict. The findings of zero correlations between variables of interest inspired the author to focus on the mechanism of source attribution. Guided by the perspective of “prioritizing work for family benefits,” the author and his colleagues have examined the mediating and moderating process in the mechanism of source attribution. To inspire research peers, the author focuses on illustrating the journey of an idea from inception to implementation, and finally to acceptance by journal reviewers. The essay emphasizes that insights on phenomena are the crux of a research paper and that teaching is important for research.
